The Department of Orthopedics at Avicenna Medical Complex, G-9/1, Islamabad, provides comprehensive care for disorders and injuries of the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and spine. The department manages both acute trauma and chronic musculoskeletal conditions using evidence-based orthopedic practices.

Scope of Care

  • • Trauma Orthopedics: Fractures, dislocations, and musculoskeletal injuries.
  • • Joint Disorders: Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and degenerative joint diseases.
  • • Spine Disorders: Back pain, disc disease, and spinal instability.
  • • Pediatric Orthopedics: Congenital and developmental musculoskeletal conditions.

Academic & Training Role

As a teaching department, Orthopedics actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Clinical training is supervised by experienced orthopedic consultants following recognized training standards.
